What we do.


Traverse Psychology provides specialist assistance to new parents, children and adolescents, and young adults.

 

We can assist in areas such as:

·     Anxiety: separation anxiety, fears, panic attacks, excessive worry, social anxiety,

·     Mood: depression and emotional regulation difficulties

·     Family: conflict, parental separation,

·     Relationships: bullying, communication, and conflict management

·     Schooling: school refusal, study stress, future planning

·     New parents: pregnancy support, difficulties in adjusting to parenthood (including post-natal depression and anxiety), and ongoing parenting support

 

We understand the importance of privacy, particularly in a small community. Please be assured that your confidentiality will be upheld.

 

Psychologists do not prescribe medication – however, we will work closely with your GP should medication be of benefit.

 

Traverse Psychology does not treat or provide services for forensic issues, court reports and assessments, or work capacity assessments.


How to Access.


Clients can access the service through self-referral as a private, full fee-paying patient. However, a substantial Medicare rebate is available for up to 10 sessions per years with a referral from a medical professional (a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician).

 

Services funded by other organisations or government schemes (such as NDIS or Workcover) can also be provided.

 

Sessions can be conducted via telehealth if preferred. 


Fees & Rebates


Payment is required at the time of each session and can be paid via most credit cards or EFTPOS.

 

Fees are set at $255 per 45-60 minute session.

 

Medicare rebates (around $141) are available to clients referred under a Mental Health Care Plan. Medicare rebates can be processed at the time of payment into your designated account.

 

Private health rebates are available for most private health funds.
